Fall into Reading, Learning & Discovery!

October brings cooler days, colorful leaves, pumpkins, Halloween fun—and plenty of reasons to get curious!

💡🧠 October Spotlight: Helping Children Understand Dyslexia

Helping Children Understand Dyslexia

October is Dyslexia Awareness Month, a great opportunity to help children understand that everyone learns differently.

Our book "Why Isn't Nika Playing? introduces children to dyslexia in a simple, relatable way and opens the door to conversations about empathy, patience, and supporting friends who may learn differently.

For children who find decoding challenging, Smart Kidz Club offers features that can make digital reading more accessible, including:

📖   Read-aloud support when decoding is difficult
🔤   Word highlighting with narration to connect spoken and written words
🔁   Repeatable audio for additional practice
🎯   Minimal distractions to help children focus
⭐   Sight words and decodable books for developing readers
Try this at home:

After reading together, ask:
"What do you think Nika needed from her friends?"

One simple question can turn storytime into a conversation about understanding others.

💰Money Lessons Start Early 📈

Money Lessons Start Early

October is Economic Education Month, and money is something children encounter every day—even when they don't realize they're learning about it!

Smart Kidz Club's "Financial Literacy collection introduces young learners to concepts such as saving, spending, earning, sharing, giving, budgeting, and making thoughtful choices.

Try this:

  1. Give your child a small pretend budget and ask: "You have $10. What would you save, spend, or share?"
There's no single right answer. The conversation is the lesson!
  2. Encourage your child to check their balance in the Smart Bank on the profile screen of the App. Help them shop for rewards with their virtual Smart Coins.

👶🛡️A Parent's October Reminder: Make Screen Time Safer

October is also Cybersecurity Awareness Month and Bullying Prevention Month—a good reminder that children need guidance as they spend more time in digital spaces.

Our parent resource video, Top 5 Tips for Keeping Children Safe Online, offers practical ways to help children navigate today's digital world.

You'll also learn how Smart Kidz Club supports a safer reading experience with no harmful ads or distractions and offline reading, so children can focus on books rather than what else might pop up on the screen.

▶️ Watch the video and add a few simple online-safety habits to your family's routine.
