We are honored that Smart Kidz Club has been recognized in the International Centre for EdTech Impact (ICEI) 2025 Case Studies Report, which celebrates innovative and meaningful collaborations between academia and EdTech companies across the globe. Our inclusion as Case Study 4 (pages 11–14) highlights two of our most impactful initiatives—The Early Learning Library (U.S.) and Namibia Reads (Africa).

At the heart of these efforts is a deeply held belief: every child deserves equitable access to high-quality literacy resources, regardless of geography, background, or language. That belief has guided our work from the start, and it is what continues to inspire us every day.

I firmly believe that collaboration between EdTech innovators and academic researchers is essential to building truly effective educational solutions. When we work together to co-develop tools and evaluate their real-world impact, we move beyond innovation for its own sake. Instead, we create solutions that are inclusive, evidence-based, and genuinely capable of improving outcomes for learners. Our ongoing partnership with the University of Delaware is a strong example of this approach in action.

Together, we've tackled some of the most pressing challenges in early childhood education:

  • In the United States, we are working to close the digital divide for underserved families through an ad-free, mobile-first reading platform that strengthens the vital home-school connection.
  • In Namibia, we've partnered with the Ministry of Education and community libraries to provide open-access, culturally relevant digital books in English, reaching children who previously had little or no access to reading materials.

These initiatives were not simply informed by research—they were co-created with the very people they serve: parents, teachers, librarians, and local education leaders. By listening and learning from those on the ground, we've ensured our tools are not only usable but truly impactful.

As we stand at the threshold of a future shaped by artificial intelligence, the importance of reading proficiency cannot be overstated. The next generation will need to craft the right prompts, interpret AI-generated responses, and assess their accuracy. These abilities hinge on strong literacy skills. Our mission is to help build that foundation early—because literacy is no longer optional; it's essential.

As a founder, I want to acknowledge something that is often overlooked in our industry: it takes courage to prioritize learning outcomes over revenue. In a marketplace saturated with gamified distractions and profit-first products, we have chosen a different path—one rooted in integrity, long-term impact, and purpose.

Being recognized in the ICEI report is not just an honor—it's a validation that this path matters. The insights from our research partnerships have shaped our product design, strengthened our grant applications, and expanded our reach to more communities around the world.

But this is only the beginning.

We are actively seeking new researchers, funders, and mission-aligned partners who share our commitment to transforming early literacy. Together, we can empower every child with the skills they need to thrive—not just in school, but in life.
