- Hemisphere: One half of a sphere, as in the earth being divided in half by the equator and forming the Northern and the Southern hemispheres.
- continents: A large land mass, one of seven found on earth.
- crust: The outer layer of the earth.
- mantle: The middle area of the earth between the central core and the outer crust.
- core: The center part of the earth.
- vapor: Gas formed when heating a liquid.
