"The General Assembly declares 4 to 10 October World Space Week to celebrate each year at the international level
the contributions of space science and technology to the betterment of the human condition" - UN General Assembly Resolution, 6 December 1999
A lot has been happening in the space recently, the Supermoon Lunar Eclipse on September 28th,
two black holes in Virgo heading for a massive collision, and the super exciting news from
NASA about finding evidence of water on planet Mars. Exploration of space, exoplanets, galaxies,
landings on planets, moons, asteroids and comets teach us about where we humans have come from and
where we will go in the future. Space is all about Discovery! And this is the theme of this year's
World Space Week, October 4-10. The official poster for the 2015 celebrations has been designed by
Mr. Alec Bartos from Romania. His design with the explorer's footprints over the Milky Way perfectly
reflects the spirit of "Discovery", as humankind slowly ventures further into deep space to discover
more and more secrets of the universe. Learn more at www.worldspaceweek.org.
