Smart Kidz Club: HOME

April 10, 2015 is the National Sibling Day! Sibling Day was created by Claudia Evart, a freelance paralegal from Manhattan, New York. Claudia started the day after losing her sister at an early age. The date of National Sibling Day is very important to her as it marks the birthday of her sister Lisette. The bond between siblings is extra-special, even more so if one of them has a life-long illness or a disability. This bond is a life-long relationship lasting from cradle to grave and is usually the longest relationship of a person's life, typically much longer than a mother's and father's relationship. Sibling Day is a way of honoring that special bond. It is a day of celebration and recognition for brothers and sisters around the world. Check out the editor's pick this week, a story about two young girls welcoming their sibling into this world.
