March 5th is Mardi Gras. It means "Fat Tuesday" in French and takes place just before the Christian season of Lent begins on Ash Wednesday. People enjoy a lot of food, music, dancing, parades, and parties. Some people wear costumes and masks. Mardi Gras is popular in many places around the world like New Orleans, Venice, and Rio de Janeiro. It is the most popular time to visit New Orleans in Louisiana. Read more about this happy festival celebrated in February or March in our new release this week, Mardi Gras, the next book in our book series on Holidays and Festivals from around the world. Other new releases are flashcards on My School, and a math activity book for Grade 5, Multiply Fractions.
