Dialogic Reading is a new effective way to read aloud with young children. Children who have been read to dialogically are substantially ahead of children who have been read to traditionally on tests of language development. In dialogic reading, the adult becomes the listener, the questioner, the audience for the child and helps the child become the teller of the story. A new release this week is the first book in our Dialogic Reading series for pre-K and beginner readers -The Big Cat. These story books use only the Dolch words for pre-Kindergarten. The first page lists all the Doch words that your child should know for this grade with the words used in the book highlighted for additional practice. The dialogic prompts are listed at the end for parents and teachers to use. Other new releases this week are the flashcards of home appliances, and a math activity book for Grade 4, Probability and Statistics.
