January 16th was Martin Luther King Jr. Day observed in the United States on the third Monday of January to celebrate the birth of Martin Luther King Junior and to commemorate his life and legacy. This federal holiday honors the life and contributions of America’s greatest champion of racial justice and equality, the leader who dreamed of a color-blind society and lead a movement that achieved historic reforms to help make it a reality. On this day we should focus on his teachings of nonviolence, unconditional love, tolerance, forgiveness and reconciliation.
