- hieroglyphics: Kind of writing having pictures or figures as symbols.
- nomadic: People who do not have a permanent home, and move from place to place, usually to find fresh grass for their animals.
- pictograph: A drawing that is a symbol for a word.
- "Renaissance": A rebirth or revival.
- Stirrups: A pair of metal loops that riders put their feet into to help them stay on a horse.
